Abstract
The effectiveness of a rational ,emotional guidance program in reducing the level of oppositional defiant disorder for
preparatory stage students

The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a rational emotional counseling program in reducing the standard of the Oppositional Defiant Disorder among middle school students. The study sample consisted of (24) pupils (male and female) in the preparatory stage of the Al-Arabi Private School of Languages, and they were divided into two equivalent groups (an experimental group and a control group),we used the experimental approach with the experimental design and the method of pre and post measurement in order to suit the nature of the study, and their chronological age ranged between (12-15) years, with an average age of (13.45) years and a deviation Standard (1.32), We applied the Oppositional Defiant Disorder scale (prepared by the researcher ), the socio-economic level scale prepared by Abdul Aziz Al-Shakhs (2013), and the rational and emotional counseling program (prepared by the researcher).The results revealed the effectiveness of the program in reducing the level of the Oppositional Defiant Disorder among middle school students and the continuity of effectiveness in the time of following up.
